Pakistan Earthquake: A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck near Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, at around 1 PM on Saturday, as reported by the National Center for Seismology.
The earthquake was at a depth of 10 km, according to the NCS. The tremors were also strongly felt in parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to local media reports, no damage or casualties were reported in Pakistan’s capital following the earthquake. However, more details are awaited.
Earlier in the day, two minor earthquakes were also recorded in the region— a magnitude 4.2 quake in Tajikistan at 12:24 IST and a magnitude 3.3 tremor in Pakistan at 11:55 IST.
