US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said Tehran “must stop and eliminate” its enrichment programme to reach a deal with Washington. “The president means what he says, which is they (Iran) cannot have a bomb,” Witkoff reiterated America’s stance. The remarks by Trump’s negotiator with Iran seemingly raises the bar of US demands ahead of another round of talks with Iranian officials. “Any final arrangement must set a framework for peace, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East – meaning that Iran must stop and eliminate its nuclear enrichment and weaponization program, Witkoff said on April 15, adding that “It is imperative for the world that we create a tough, fair deal that will endure, and that is what President has asked me to do.”Witkoff had been part of a round of negotiations with Iranian officials and was in direct contact with Iran’s foreign minister in Oman on April 12. The second round of talks between the two sides are scheduled for April 19. n18oc_world n18oc_crux0:00 INTRODUCTION3:48 TRUMP STRESSES ON “NEED FOR IRAN TO END ITS NUKE PROGRAM”4:48 TRUMP HOLDS SITUATION ROOM MEETING ON IRAN: REPORT6:32 MOSSAD PLANS TO ASSASSINATE IRGC AIR FORCE CHIEF?
