Pakistan’s army chief General Asim Munir, during one of his recent speeches, peddled the two-nation theory and stressed that India and Pakistan are two different nations and that Pakistanis are different from Hindus, in their culture, ambition, ideologies, and more.

Addressing the Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad on Wednesday, Munir said that every Pakistani native should narrate the story of how the nation was born, to their children, and that the “story of Pakistan should never be forgotten”.

“You have to narrate Pakistan’s story to your children so that they don’t forget it when our forefathers thought we were different from Hindus in every possible aspect of life,” Munir said at the event.

“Our religion is different, our customs are different, our traditions are different, our thoughts are different, our ambitions are different, that’s where the foundation of the two-nation theory was laid. We are two nations, we are not one nation,” Munir said.

“…Because of that, our forefathers mounted that incessant struggle to create this country. Our forefathers, they have sacrificed immensely, and we have sacrificed a lot for the creation of this country, and we know how to defend it,” he said.

“My dear brothers and sisters and sons and daughters, please don’t forget the story of Pakistan, and don’t forget to narrate this story of Pakistan to your next generation, so that their bond with Pakistan never weakens, whether it is the third generation, or the fourth generation, or the fifth generation, they know what Pakistan is for them,” the Pakistan army chief said.

Munir, at the event, also vowed to crack down on terrorists in Balochistan and termed it the “destiny of Pakistan”, stating that “even ten generations of terrorists cannot harm Balochistan and Pakistan”.

He emphasised the army’s determination to tackle terrorism and praised overseas Pakistanis for their dedication and commitment to the nation.

Munir assured that the country’s armed forces will overcome the threat posed by terrorists, specifically mentioning groups like Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) and Baloch Republican Army (BRA).

“We will beat the hell out of these terrorists very soon. You think, these 1,500 terrorists, belonging to BLA, BLF and BRA, etc, can take away Balochistan from us?” he asked.

Also assuring that the country’s armed forces will overcome the threat posed by terrorists, he affirmed, “Do Pakistan’s enemies think that a handful of terrorists can decide the fate of Pakistan? Even ten generations of terrorists cannot harm Balochistan and Pakistan.”

“As long as the brave people of this country stand with the Pakistan Armed Forces, your army can easily face every difficulty. Today we are giving this clear message together that whatever stands in the way of Pakistan’s progress, we will remove that obstacle together,” Munir said.

News agency ANI quoted Dawn and stated Munir also expressed support for Palestinians affected by Israel’s military actions in Gaza, saying “The hearts of Pakistanis beat in unison with the Muslims of Gaza”.
