The US Vice-President’s trip to India with his family will also send a strong message of cultural familiarity, diaspora ties, and people-to-people engagement

Stay at Jaipur’s famous luxury hotel Rambagh Palace, a visit to Amer Fort, the Taj Mahal in Agra, and the Akshardham Temple in Delhi—besides talking business, US Vice-President JD Vance’s four-day trip to India will also showcase soft-power undertones.
Vance’s Indian-origin wife, Usha Vance, and children will visit the places too, sending a strong message of cultural familiarity, diaspora ties, and people-to-people engagement.
Here’s the full itinerary of Vance’s visit
• The US Vice-President lands with his family in Delhi around 10am on April 21. He will visit the Akshardham Temple in Delhi, an emporium in Janpath, and meet some dignitaries before his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 6.30pm, followed by official dinner
• Vance will leave for Jaipur around 8.30pm on April 21. He will land in Jaipur at 9pm and proceed for the Rambagh Palace, a Taj property, for a night stay at a luxury suite.
• Rambagh Palace in Jaipur is a luxury heritage property built in 1835, which gracefully retains its elaborate splendour. Adorned with hand-carved marble latticework, sandstone balustrades, and lush Mughal Gardens, it once served as a royal guesthouse and hunting lodge. From the Maharaja’s residence to an authentic palace, this palace hotel in Jaipur upholds its ceremonial grandeur for all guests
• On the morning of April 22, the Vance family will visit Amer Fort and possibly other big attractions of Jaipur like Hawa Mahal and City Palace
• At around 3pm on April 22, Vance will address a business summit at Rajasthan International Centre
• On the evening of April 22, Vance will meet the Governor and Chief Minister of Rajasthan. He will stay overnight at Rambagh Palace
• On April 23 morning, the Vance family will leave for Agra at 7am
• Vance will be received by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the Agra airport
• Vance family will visit the Taj Mahal and Shilpgram till noon. The route from the airport till Shilpgram will see various Indian classical performances by artists and welcome stages
• Taj Mahal will be closed for other visitors between 7am and 1pm on April 23
• Vance will return to Jaipur on April 23 evening
• Vance family leaves for the US from Jaipur on the morning of April 24
• Vance has risen as a prominent figure in India-US relations and is being seen as an extension of the same worldview shared by Modi and Trump. His first official visit comes on the heels of the Prime Minister’s trip to the US in February.
