Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Elon Musk as he called the Tesla boss and DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) chief a visionary akin to famed Soviet rocket engineer Sergei Korolev.
As Vladimir Putin spoke to students during a visit to Moscow’s Bauman University, he said that Elon Musk is among the rare individuals “charged-up with a certain idea”.
His obsession with going to Marks is like the ambitions of Soviet space pioneers like Sergei Korolev, the Russian President said. Sergei Korolev, is credited with launching the Soviet space programme, including the world’s first satellite, Sputnik and Vostok 1.
Vladimir Putin Praises Elon Musk’s Mars Ambitions
“You know, there’s a man, he lives in the States, Musk, who, you could say, raves about Mars. These are the kind of people who don’t often appear in the human population,” he said.
Such ideas may seem incredible now, “they often come to fruition after a while”, he continued.
“Such people rarely appear… even though it may seem incredible to me today, after a time such ideas are often realised”, Vladimir Putin said.
When Vladimir Putin Called Elon Musk ‘A Smart Person’
Earlier, Vladimir Putin said in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson that “there’s no stopping Elon Musk”. Referring to Neuralink, Musk’s brain-chip venture, the Russian leader said, “You’ll need to find some common ground with him… persuade him” but he is a “smart person”.
At the 2023 Eastern Economic Forum, Vladimir Putin called Elon Musk “an extraordinary person” and a “talented businessman”. He then said, “This is also recognised all over the world.”
